GSAT-10 - India's heaviest satellite launched successfully
GSAT-10 is India's heaviest and advanced communication satellite was successfully launched from Europe's spaceport in French Guiana in South America on 29th September, 2012.GSAT-10 would augment telecommunications, DTH broadcasting and Radio navigation services. GSAT-10 is 3400 Kg. at lift off is the heaviest satellite till now built by ISRO.
The GSAT-10 was launched by Ariane-5 rocket. The Rocket blasted off from the launch pad at 2:48 AM (IST) and first injected European satellite ASTRA 2F into orbit followed by GSAT-10.
GSAT-10 is expected to be operational from November, 2012 onwards with a design life of 15 years.
